I am the founder of Coastal Legal Counsel, a fully virtual law firm offering legal services throughout North Carolina. My practice focuses on estate planning, business law, incompetency proceedings and guardianships, probate and estate administration, trust administration, and real estate law (I do not handle real estate closings). With an advanced legal degree in elder law and estate planning, I am passionate about helping individuals and families navigate complex legal issues with confidence and peace of mind.

Throughout my legal career, I have gained extensive experience in estate planning, probate, guardianship, business law, and residential and commercial real estate law. I take pride in providing personalized legal counsel and building meaningful client relationships. Servant leadership and community involvement are at the heart of my practice, shaping how I approach every matter.

Beyond my legal work, I am honored to serve as Chairman of the Board for First Fruit Ministries, an organization dedicated to supporting those in need. I am also a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina State Bar, and Beta Gamma Sigma.

My educational background includes a BBA in Business Management from the University of Houston Downtown, a Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law, and an LL.M in Elder Law & Estate Planning from Western New England University School of Law. I am currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from Pillar Seminary.

On a personal level, my faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of my life. I am a remarried widower and a proud father of four wonderful children. After 11 years of running a physical office in Wilmington, I relocated to the Grand Rapids area of Michigan. I also have a deep love for rugby—I played for over a decade, including a season in Cape Town, South Africa, and have coached youth rugby. I am also part of the worldwide men’s fitness group F3, which stands for Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith. My F3 name is Wapner.
